In Nepal majority of people live in rural areas and they are poor. The people are not only poor but also without awareness of their health. Large number of people are without good health facilities so there are so many chances of suffering from different diseases. The rich lived comparatively well but also shared such common problem as the lack of clean water supply and knowledge about cleanliness.
A number of diseases and chronic infections were prevalent. Goiter like disease directly associated with iodine deficiency. In rural area there is use of open iodine less salts so that the people suffer from such disease. Malnutrition is also another chronic problem, especially in rural areas of the country. Also lack of transportation facilities the rural people are not able to reach up to hospital after getting suffer from any diseases or injuries.
The health care centers are also not available in all the parts of the country. Health centres are only in some urban areas. So in rural areas of the country people are forced to go with witch doctor (Jhankri) for treatment of any disease. The people believe in (raw medicinal herbs) Jadibuti and consume such Jadibuti in lack of proper knowledge which may cause great harm in their health. So the real condition of health in Nepal is poor.
